Start with inventory.
Add each item, its purchase date and cost, a unique SKU, and a storage location. Keep unsold stock separate from completed sales.
Enter the real costs.
When an item sells, record the item price, shipping collected, fees, and shipping expense. Profit formulas help you see the result. The workbook supports one completed sale per SKU; it does not maintain refund or resale history.

Save a copy in Excel, or upload the workbook to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. Make your own copy before editing.
FROM SPREADSHEET TO STOCKROOM
Bring the items
you still have.
Ready for a searchable workspace? Use the workbook’s Stockroom import sheet for unsold inventory only. It automatically includes Inventory rows marked In stock, using the headers Stockroom expects.
- On the Inventory sheet, enter an item name, unique SKU, purchase date, cost, storage location, and notes. Mark unsold items In stock. Use dates such as 2026-09-27 and USD amounts such as 12.50.
- Open the Stockroom import sheet and export that sheet alone as CSV. Keep its six headers unchanged; blank formula rows are ignored.
- In Stockroom, choose Import inventory, upload the CSV, review the preview, and confirm the import.
The free plan holds 10 total items, including sold and archived items. Larger imports need enough space on your plan. The importer does not accept historical sales or automatically map custom headers.

Before you get started.
Is this really free?
Yes. Download and use the workbook without an account or email address. Stockroom’s separate web app has a free plan and an optional annual paid plan.
Does it work in Google Sheets?
The download is an Excel .xlsx workbook with simple formulas. Upload it to Google Drive, open it with Google Sheets, and save your own Google Sheets copy. Review date and currency formatting after importing. This is a downloadable workbook, not a shared online template.
Can I upload the whole workbook into Stockroom?
No. Export the Stockroom import sheet as CSV first. Stockroom accepts unsold inventory rows in its template format, not an .xlsx file or completed-sales history.
